Both parts of the book are presented alternately and there is definitely a good balance a glamorously unglamorous life the blog posts and the life lessons. Even though the book is self-published and so contains some mistakes in grammar and spelling every now and then, I really enjoyed this book a lot.
It tells the story of a girl that wants to achieve something in life, but is not completely sure a glamorously unglamorous life to achieve and what to do. Even though Julia graduated in acting, she does some nannying and writing once she gets to New York. And of course this limits and opens possibilities at the same time.
A Glamorously Unglamorous Life
Julia is not afraid of questioning herself and her actions. And above all, she is not afraid of putting in words how awful and unfair life can be sometimes.
The thing I loved most about this book is how I could relate to her - the not knowing what to do with life, the many possibilities you have, the way life just a glamorously unglamorous life miserable sometimes and you don't even know why you feel that way. Don't get me wrong.

This is not a glamorously unglamorous life sad book or a book in which the author just complains about life. In fact, this book is really the complete opposite: It is a book about the beauty of life. Because even though life may just suck sometimes, Julia still stays strong and she works and tries to do everything to stay positive and get the most of every day.
And that is what really made me enjoy and love this book: It is inspiring, because a glamorously unglamorous life want to be as strong and as self-confident as Julia. Still you know that everyone has their bad moments and it is okay to have them as long as you go on fighting afterwards.

This came recommended to me by a friend who is a huge fan of the production company that the author belongs to. It's a page softcover that it a glamorously unglamorous life she published on her own, as evident by the numerous typos but hey, you do what you gotta do.
